Career & College Center

Students as early as age 13 and up can start gaining college credit now. Do some digging in the courses they offer, what you may be interested in pursing as a career, the resources and support offered, and if they offer financial aid and/or scholarships to help offset the cost to attend. 

Pre-College Online Courses

College Possible makes college admission and success possible for low-income students through an intensive curriculum of coaching and support! Each February, the College Possible coaches would recruit a group of 40 sophomores s committed to going to college. Our students come from low-income backgrounds and have at least a 2.0 GPA. Students selected into our program attend 2 hour sessions/twice per week after school during their junior and senior year. They also remain in our program until they graduate college and receive the support of a college coach.

TRIO serves high school students with parent(s)/guardian(s) who are both low income (150 percent of poverty level) and first-generation college student (neither parent has earned a 4-year college degree). The students must be currently enrolled in the participating high school and have academic potential and determination to attend a post-secondary institution after high school. TRIO Upward Bound Programs are an intensive year-round long-term program and our students must be willing to attend events and participate fully in our activities

The Upward Bound programs are committed to educational equity. Our charge is not only to increase the number of students who attend and graduate from college but also develop participants into future leaders. In addition, the Upward Bound Math-Science program also strives to help students recognize and develop their potential to excel in math and science as well as encourage them to pursue post-secondary degrees and careers in math and science.

We provide the academic tools for college readiness and success through 1) intensive academic advising, 2) academic tutoring and rigor, 3) study skills and college test preparation 4) grade-specific workshops, 5) cultural enrichment, 6) mentoring, 7) career and college exploration, 8) leadership development and 9) community engagement.

RAHS students have participated in Genesys Works, a unique collaboration with area businesses in which students get exceptional real world experience, mentoring and high school credits.  Students are nominated to apply. The Power of YOU program makes the first two years at Saint Paul College tuition-fre​e for eligible high school graduates. It covers the cost of tuition and fees for two years at Saint Paul College through state and federal grants and private scholarships. The Power of YOU supports as many students as possible based on student need and funds available for the program. Traditionally, four-year colleges have expected college entrance standardized testing such as the ACT and SAT.

ACT

The ACT test, started by the American College Testing Program, is a standardized pencil-and-paper or online test used as a college entrance exam. Some colleges and universities use your ACT score, along with your GPA, extracurricular activities, and high school involvement to determine admission to their campus as a freshman. The ACT contains multiple-choice tests in four areas: English, mathematics, reading and science. ACT's writing test is optional and will not affect your composite score. Currently, Roseville Area High School offers the chance to take the ACT exam on a specific date in March or April for all Juniors.

PSAT

The PSAT or Pre SAT is an optional test offered to RAHS Juniors in October.  The PSAT is used to determine National Merit Scholars and is the gateway to thousands of dollars in potential scholarships.  It’s an exceptional practice for the ACT, which all RAHS students will take in April of their Junior year for free. The PSAT cost is $27 but scholarships are available.  Students should see their counselor for more information on the PSAT. Students register via Fee Pay on the RAHS website beginning in August.

College Applications, Initial and Final Transcripts & NCAA Eligibility
Students should make requests in their Xello account. When Ms. Brown in the College & Career Center receives these requests, she will receive a notification to submit the transcripts.

Common Application Transcripts
Students can access their initial transcript in their Xello account. In the College Planning section on Xello, you can access your initial transcript there to download. Once downloaded, upload it to your Common App. Need any assistance, see Ms. Brown in the College and Career Center.

Ordering Transcripts on Parchment

1. Go to www.parchment.com  

2. Set up an account with an email address and password

3. Find "Roseville Area High School" (Even if you graduated from Fairview Alternative High School, Ramsey High School, or Kellogg High School, please select Roseville Area High School.)

4. Select a destination address for each transcript from Parchment’s database of accredited colleges

5. Choose delivery options and pay fee online with a valid credit or debit card

6. Sign in at any time to request additional transcripts or to track requests in progress

The graduate will receive a confirmation email when the recipient has been sent the transcript. If you have any questions or problems registering or ordering transcripts, please email customerservice@parchment.com.
