Class of 2023 Information

Seniors who are interested in giving a Spoken Word piece, giving a graduation speech, or reading names at the Roseville Area High School graduation ceremony are invited to the audition on Thursday, May 18 at 2:10 p.m. in RAHS Room B219. 

Please bring a printed copy of your graduation speech to the audition. A list will be provided for those interested in reading names. Factors such as strength of presentation style, content, audience appeal and balance of messages will be considered in the selection process.

Three students will be chosen as graduation speakers

• One to give the Welcome Address
• Two to give the Graduation Speeches

Four students will be chosen as name readers for graduation. In this role, students will announce students’ names to receive diplomas during graduation.

Students interested in auditioning for a role as a graduation speaker should keep their speech to 3–4 minutes in length. Students will choose between the two topics below or may choose to speak about a topic of their own. The speech has to include topics about RAHS.

Graduation Speech Topics

• What important life lessons have you learned at RAHS?
• Explain how RAHS has impacted you and/or your future goals (for example, (experiences, staff, activities)?

Students interested in auditioning to be name readers must speak clearly. During the audition, they will be given a list of names to read.

The Senior Gathering for the RAHS Class of 2023 will be held on Thursday, May 25 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. in the RAHS cafeteria. Light refreshments will be served.

At the Senior Gathering, you will receive:

•     Cap, gown & tassel
•     Yearbook (if you purchased one)
•     Letter to Self (from 9^th grade)

After the Senior Gathering, you have an opportunity to go to your former elementary school as part of the annual Senior Walk.

This is also the last opportunity to pay fines and to sign up for the Senior All-Night Party (which is hosted by families).

During the Senior Gathering you will have the option to visit your elementary schools to celebrate your accomplishments with your former principals. Below are the schools along with the times you can visit:

We are looking for volunteers to help make our senior events successful. Please consider volunteering for any or all of the events including graduation practice or graduation set-up. Contact Ms. Hayes if you are interested in volunteering at Shlynn.Hayes@isd623.org. 

If we move to the bad weather plan, the final decision will be announced Thursday, June 1

On June 1, 2^nd hour teachers will collect iPads from seniors.

On June 2 during graduation practice, we will collect iPads from any seniors who forgot them on June 1. On June 5-8, we will call and send letters to those seniors who have not returned their iPad.

To ensure an easier flow of traffic in and out of the parking lots, County Road B2 in front of the High School will be enforced as a One Way street allowing eastbound traffic only onto the street. Please enter from Hamline Avenue for graduation parking on site, and the majority of traffic will be exiting eastbound Lexington Avenue. There will be Roseville Police Officers, Reserve Officers, and Explorers helping with traffic flow, and Public Works will be providing equipment to help with enforcement and eliminate confusion .

To supplement the limited parking at the high school, there will be two park and ride shuttles running from Roseville Area Middle School (RAMS) and Aŋpétu Téča Education Center.

There will be extra handicapped parking reserved in the lower gym parking lot. If you are in need of handicapped seating please contact Ms. Jenny Dagle 651-635-1660
